Now What?

This is almost laughable...

I don't really care about the Supreme Court nomination, but the caricatures of them all are kind of funny. Here goes.

Word of the day: gutpuckering

However, I do care that the congress has passed a Military spending bill that includes 3.5 billion for Haiti? What does that have to do with the war in Afghanistan?
There is also a lot of other 'domestic' spending pork in this bill... We do need to fund the war effort, but this is absurd.

We have spies amongst us? Really? What could we possibly have that they don't... or that they don't already know about us. Surly, we have spies over there too?

On this, Obama did the right thing.

Hang Tough, Arizona

First we hear from H. Clinton that Obama plans to sue Arizona because the Federal Government should be handling the border issues... They certainly have done a bang up job of it.

Now Mexico plans to sue Arizona too? Shut the front door! ... Apparently the Arizona law is very much the same as the Mexican law regarding visitors to Mexico. Mexican authorities have the right to ask you to prove your citizenship when in Mexico. That's why we are required to carry our passport. Actually you have to have a passport to get back into the United States.

I wonder if Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen plan to sue us over illegal immigration?

Word of the day: ridiculous

Well, someone needs to show some backbone and it appears Arizona is the only state willing to do so. I'd like to see the federal government, or Mexico for that matter, have to file suit against California, New Mexico and Florida. Oh but that would mean they would have had to enact their own immigration law... Where are their spines?

I have given my little diatribe about a fast track to citizenship, green card or at the very least a work permit... if you have been here for 20 years with no criminal record, get a green card... Once those people are processed we can look at those who have been here 19 yrs, then 18 yrs, 17 yrs...etc. But we have to secure the border

Those with a criminal record, get deported, no hearing, no loop holes, no fuss, no muss, adios!. We know who the criminals are...round them up and bus them home.

Out Of The Ordinary

I must say, I do find it odd that BO can react in an instant , over a magazine article, and then, with the wave of his hand, bring, General McChrystal home for a tongue lashing, but when there is a national crisis such as the oil spill he takes 55 days to meet with the CEO of bp to give him a tongue lashing...

However I also found it odd, when McChrystal was requesting more troops, it took nearly 3 months for a response from the president.

Word of the day: incompetent

I find it odd that BO will react immediately to the earthquake crisis in Haiti but it takes 55 days for any reaction from him regarding the devastation of the entire gulf coast and I don't mean just the environment. I mean lifestyles altered. And really, what kind of a lifestyle does a fisherman really have. I have never met a fisherman that lived in a 5,000 sq ft home or drove a Mercedes... Who knows how long it will take for the Oysters, Clams, Shrimp, Crawdads, Muscles and Scallops to come back, not to mention the fish.

I also find it odd that Hollywood is conspicuously absent. Where are the celebrities who sent millions of money to Haiti and yet can't muster a dime for the people in Tennessee who lost everything in the rain and floods. Where are they during this gulf crisis. I haven't even heard of any celebrities going to the gulf to offer moral support much less money. If the oil should make it's way to Mexico, (after all they also border the Gulf of Mexico) will we see them then?

I also find it odd that such a huge deal is being made about the CEO of bp going sailing, yet barely is mention made of BO's attendance at a baseball game and Golf outing. Get over it...it's the grunts who do the real work. How many times do we drive down the road and see 4 or 5 guys gathered around a little fella, digging a hole? Every day. Tony Haywood, who wants his life back, and President O finally doing something constructive, getting out of the way.

Kick 'em When Their Down

As I have stated in previous blogs, boycotting bp solves nothing. In fact, boycotting bp could jeopardize compensation in the future. Buy BP for now they are almost the cheapest gas around. The cheapest being Citgo...and I am boycotting Citgo. I will stop for a snack but no gas.

Word of the day: simpleton

Please get over bp's president referring to the gulf coast peasants as "the small people".
Just plug the hole.

Oh President Obama made a speech about 55 days late and I guess it's hard to set up teleprompters on the beaches so the Oval office was the venue.

I just wish our president would have taken charge like LA Governor Bobby Jindal has done. Unfortunately our Federal Government has as much as tied his hands. Even the Dutch were more willing to take charge and help...why are we unwilling to accept international help.

Our isolationist attitude reminds me so much of the sinking of the Russian Submarine when we offered to help and they turned us down. Everyone on that ship died.

I am also starting to turn a little cold to the washing and attempting to rehabilitate the wildlife. the concept is all well and good. Unless they are an endangered species, just euthanize them and cut the financial losses. Not only are they soaked in petroleum, we traumatize them further by soaping them up and scrubbing them down...the oil is more than likely already in their lungs, they will probably die anyway. I think the money is better spent to help in the efforts to prevent the oil from getting further into their habitat. Give them someplace to land.

Seriously?

55 days after the disastrous fire and finally collapse of the deep drill oil rig and gazillion gallon oil leak, the U.S. Coast Guard has sent a letter to BP petroleum. BP has 24 hours to fix the leak or else... Or else what? The Coast Guard is going to take it over and fix it. Who ever wrote that letter and worse yet, who ever signed it...
  • Thought they would make a sick joke
  • Won a high school science fair
  • drive an electric car
  • must be high on ( ) enter drug of choice
  • knew sending it on a Sunday, there would be no comics
  • A product of inbreeding
As a parent I tried to avoid idle or empty threats. and if I made a threat you can be sure I had a plan to carry it out.

I got gas the other day and I got it from BP. I see no point to boycotting them. If we do and they go bankrupt...then what...We foot the bill...hold that thought...we borrow more money from China to foot the bill....

BP is spending a lot of needless money to let everyone know that they are doing what they can...Really?

Which brings me to another topic. BO Wants another 55 billion dollars in stimulus money. People...the stimulus money created NO new jobs. It only saved state and federal jobs. I know this because I work for the university and I still have my job. the stimulus only SAVED EXISTING JOBS! and the jobs created were for the Census...I know this because my child in OK is working for them...and apparently the tasks go in waves so they can let them go and rehire them for the next phase. therefor making it look like more jobs are being created. I see no logic in this because when workers are let go, that reflects, and should balance out the ones rehired for the next phase. I hope you can make sense of my description...because it barely makes any sense to me...this is our government at work...

and finally... this inquiring mind wants to know
Who else has Van der Sloot killed?

What happens if China runs out of money?

Who will win the World Cup in Soccer?
It is well known that Soccer is not my favorite sport, but I felt compelled to watch this year, because a classmate of one of my children is on the USA starting team... #6, Steve Cherundolo. He is a defender. and against England yesterday, he was right in the thick of things. I look forward to the next game, but am clueless, I just watch for #6.

Events Spinning Out of Control

Is China trying to kill us... First there is contaminated dog and cat food, then baby formula (fortunately none was legally imported to the US) Now the Shrek glasses at McDonald's are contaminated with cadmium in the paint? Seriously. How do they expect us to pay back out debt to them if we are dead? How do we expect them to have any more money to loan us if we cannot trust them to poison their products we buy.

What will happen to the Euro? What will happen to Europe? The British were smart and didn't convert from the Pound to the Euro. But, they are in a similar financial bind to what we are in. Wonder if their debt is to China?

Joran Van der Sloot is off the streets. I wonder how many others there were before Natalie Holloway and between Natalie and his most resent victim, Stephany Flores, in Peru. Stephany was murdered five years to the date of Natalie Holloway's disappearance. Coinkidink? But the story doesn't stop there...how did he get to Peru? He extorted money from Natalie Holloway's mother. The FBI were notified and had they made an arrest in a more timely manner, it is possible his latest victim might have been spared. He must have really done crappy in the poker contest.

The Afghan government wants to "seek peace" with the Taliban. rea hee heally?... I am sure peace can work if the Taliban is back in power. A kinder, gentler Taliban... Do the Afghans really want that?? Maybe the Taliban will stop killing anyone they can and limit their beatings and killings to women. Is every Taliban child conceived by rape?

What was an American doing on the "relief Aid" ship that deliberately tried to run the 4 year blockade to the Gaza Strip. An aid worker, cruising for adventure? Israel only wants to view the contents of the ships for weapons and other contraband. Why didn't the ships just do as Israel asks and allow their ship to be inspected. When the Palestine lays down its arms, there is peace. When the Israel lays down its arms there is no more Israel. Israel is blamed for everything from the Palestinian problems to the break up of Al Gore's marriage.

And now we all know where Al Gore has been hiding out...trying to figure the spin on his separation. Forget Global Warming, he's been negotiating the terms of his separation from Tipper. Sad for them.

Word of the day: lackadaisical

And Boycotting BP gas accomplishes what? Quit pissing and moaning and get out on the beaches and help with the cleanup. In two days from now tomorrow will be yesterday. Let's hope they've stopped the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico and the serious cleanup can begin. Has it occurred to anyone that if this spill had occurred in the Northeast, every military personnel still on American soil would have been deployed to fix it and clean it up. Well we all know this kind of disaster will never happen there...they won't even put in a windmill.
